Training, cardio & meals

Whoever invited you — a trainer, a gym, your estate, a hotel, your employer — or if you train entirely on your own, the three sections you use every day are the same three screens:

SectionThe question it answers
ProgramsWhat am I training, and when?
CardioWhat conditioning am I doing, and how hard was it?
MealsWhat am I eating today, against what target?

Every section opens on a short list of cards

Section titled “Every section opens on a short list of cards”

None of the three throws everything at you at once. Each opens on a numbered list, and each card is a whole page:

  • 1. The plan — what was set out ahead of time.
  • 2. Today — the one thing you are doing right now. This card is the highlighted one, and it carries a live line: “Chest & Triceps · 6 exercises”, “3/4 meals logged”, “Easy Run · 30 min”.
  • …then History, and on Programs, My Workout Templates in between.

Because each card opens a real page, your phone’s back button always takes you back to the cards. One question per screen.

These are easy to mix up, so the app keeps them strictly apart:

  • A program is when + what — a schedule of days over a number of weeks.
  • A workout template is what, with no when — the chest day you already know, saved so you never rebuild it. See My Workout Templates.
  • Today’s workout is what I am doing right now — pulled from your program if one is running, or chosen by you if not.

A gym, estate or hotel instructor, or a personal trainer who invited you, designs your workouts — you follow and log them. Building your own workouts on top is the Individual add-on.

At a gym, estate or hotel your meals are yours: you build your own meal plans and log against them. Your instructor writes your menu only if they have added the Personal Trainer tools — see Meal plans.

Cardio is part of your program, not a separate plan

Section titled “Cardio is part of your program, not a separate plan”

Cardio sits on your program days, next to that day’s lifting. One plan, one calendar. You can still start any cardio at any time without a program — see Cardio.

Sets, meals, cardio sessions and measurements all log without a signal. They go to an outbox and sync when you reconnect — see Working offline.
